Erev Shabbat Services
Our Erev Shabbat services welcome the sabbath with worship, joyful song, Torah reading and commentary, and a thought-provoking sermon. Following our service, we gather for an Oneg Shabbat to nosh, greet friends, and get to know visitors and newcomers. Erev Shabbat services are held at 7:00 PM except the first Friday of the month we hold a 6:00 PM Young Family Service and an 7:00PM Shabbat Service. Once a month, our Erev Shabbat is geared toward our religious-school-aged children and their families. Typically centered around an upcoming holiday. TBO’s Ritual Committee completed our own unique Family Service prayer book in 2011, adding to the beauty of our experience.
Young family service is a 30-minute service held once a month with prayer, music and story experience with our Rabbis and Zemer Lexie. Our youngest congregants, from newborn to 5- years-old, learn the most basic of Shabbat prayers, sing tons of kid-friendly Shabbat songs, and celebrate what we hope they will come to love most about TBO … the joy of community!
Our monthly Shabbat Simcha service is held at 7:00PM. This is a special music-based service filled with story, spirit, and contemporary, uplifting song. Mixing new tunes and tales with those that have become familiar, Shabbat Simcha is sure to inspire all ages. Check the Temple calendar for dates each month.
Shabbat Morning Services
Saturday mornings beginning at 10:30AM. We often celebrate a bar- or bat mitzvah with family and friends. When we don’t have a b’nai mitzvah, the rabbis engage the congregation in lively Torah discussion.
