Essentials of Judaism (formerly Introduction to Judaism)

The Raleigh-Cary JCC & Area congregations present a 9-session intro to Judaism. This class taught by area rabbis offers an overview of Jewish holidays, lifecycle events and extends pathways to Jewish studies for conversion, interfaith couples, and Jews wishing to refresh their childhood religious school education.

The book “Living Judaism,” is used as the primary text. Please acquire this book wherever you like to buy books.

Beginning Adult Hebrew Class 

Come learn Hebrew starting with the Alef Bet. This 10-month course is designed to help you acquire or strengthen your Hebrew decoding skills. The focus is primarily on liturgical Hebrew and taught through an exploration of service prayers.

This course is required for those who are intending to participate in TBO’s 2022 adult B’nai Mitzvah Program.

Adult Hebrew/ B'nai Mitzvah Class

Every Wednesday, starting on October 12th, 2022. (NEW START DATE)

7:30 PM - 8:45 PM in Classroom 1 at Temple Beth Or

Learn Hebrew: basic Aleph-Bet, decoding words, reading prayers, basic vocabulary & more. This two year program is priced per semester at $180. We ask that you register for 2 semesters at a time. Culminates in Adult B’nai Mitzvah. Open to all adults.

Introduction to Modern Hebrew

Every Sunday at 11:00 AM on ZOOM

Teacher: Gailya Paliga

Class Description:  Join our beginning conversational Hebrew class for adults and older teens who want to learn practical Hebrew. We’ll start with greetings, telling time, talking about family, travel, and describing things as we learn about Hebrew language and Israeli culture.

The cost of this course is $180 per semester/$360 per year.

Continuing Modern Hebrew

Every Monday at 7:00 PM on ZOOM

Teacher: Gailya Paliga

Class Description:  We will deepen our learning about Hebrew and Israel through the incorporation of advanced vocabulary and language skills. Requires some previous experience with conversational Hebrew.

The cost of this course is $180 per semester/$360 per year.
