Yom Kippur Adult Ed
What: Study with Scott Huler: "A Striving After Wind"
We face our extraordinary times and wring our hands: what can we possibly do under these circumstances? How can we respond appropriately to these days of madness and uncertainty? “These unprecedented times” has become a cliche: so what do we do? We will search together for clues in the book of Ecclesiastes, which reminds us that “to everything there is a season.” In the midst of the hopelessness, we are reminded that every year is unprecedented, and every year we begin again.
Scott Huler has been a member of TBO since Rabbi Dinner married him and his wife, June, in 2003. Both of his boys have been bar mitzvah and are madrichim in the religious school. Huler is the author of many books of nonfiction and has had work appear in publications like the Washington Post and the New York Times and on radio shows on NPR and PRI. He has been developing a project on the book of Ecclesiastes and would love to have a conversation about this book with anyone interested.
