Dear Sisters,
As we enter into the Days of Awe, Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur are days of celebration and reflection. As the New Year begins, we take some time to think about what is important in our lives – our families, friends, and community. My family and I are forever grateful to be part of this loving and supportive community!
Our Sisterhood supports a variety of projects to strengthen and support our congregation. We sponsor programs that enrich the lives of every segment of our congregation, from preschoolers to our seniors.
- We prepare and deliver meals to congregants who are ill or housebound through Helping Hands.
- We provide support to the Ritual Team’s Libraries, the Religious School, and TBO facilities.
- We manage the gift shop for all your Judaica needs.
- We send care packages out to our college students through our College Connections Program.
- We assist with life cycle events, such as support for the grieving through the supervision of Shiva Minyans.
- We engage in fundraising events. (Previous events include the Silent Auction and Lexie Unplugged.) The monies received from these fundraisers go towards these projects and more.
We provide multiple monthly opportunities to connect. Through our monthly themed “Holy ______ Night” dinner at different restaurants, to our morning “Coffee Talks” at various coffee shops around the Triangle (just to name a couple), we endeavor to meet women of different ages and walks of life in where they are in their varying and often, chaotic schedules. If weekdays or weekday evenings do not work for you, we have also included programming on weekends as well (for example, the Banned Book Club, our recent High Tea event, and our upcoming Reflections and Vision Board). Our programs are tailored towards the needs and suggestions of the members we serve.
This year we have been excited to begin a new chapter of continued support for our community. We engage in collecting donations for Healing Transitions, Oak City Cares, and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. We are also happy to provide donations and support for Jewish Family Services and Step-Up Ministries.
We are a group of women dedicated to forging new and lasting friendships and helping those in need. We work together to empower women, strengthen our community, engage in spirituality and Jewish practices, and participate in Tikkun Olam (repairing the world) by performing as many mitzvot as we can.
We are introducing new programs to speak to women of all ages, talents, and needs. Our programs and events are open to those who support our mission and are interested in being part of our Sisterhood. Membership is one way to continue this move forward.
If you have already renewed your membership, thank you! If you haven’t, please take the time to renew by logging into your account at TBOraleigh.org, using your email. To subscribe to Sisterhood News and Events, go to MY TBO, My Subscriptions, and select Edit to select Sisterhood News and Events.

Shanah Tovah Umetukah!
